Gold by Spandau Ballet has long been an anthem of virtual universal acclaim, and one of the most well known tunes from the eighties. In contrast, Basto is one of EDM’s most underrated producers in my opinion. Famous for a melodic driven piano sound which has been wildly successful. It is perhaps unfortunate for Basto that his rise has been at the same time of that of the similarly styled Avicii. Nonetheless, Basto has chosen to diversify a bit with this hard hitting electro remix of Gold that is sure to please both the electro house purists who long for a big drop (McNab), and the old timers who are fans of the original.
