Feenixpawl have managed to reach the apex of the EDM world in an incredibly short time. Whilst topping the Beatport charts with sensational tunes such as their anthemic “In My Mind”, the Australian duo have been able to rapidly cement themselves as the pre-eminent young talent on Axwell’s Axtone records, and at the same time have garnered widespread support thanks to their impressive bootleg of Jurgen Vries’ iconic “The Theme”, which has been a staple of my and many other DJ’s live sets for quite some time. Whilst we all know that Goulding’s voice is of course very remixable, as evidenced by some incredible remixes from the likes of AN21 and Max Vangeli, and this is the first real house remix we get of Lights. The progressive leads marry beautifully into Goulding’s mezmerising vocals, and to be honest, groups like Feenixpaul give me hope, for they show that it is possible to make crossover house/pop music without selling out and retaining the original core sound. Check this one out now.
